Octatrack Black - Made in Poland?

Nobody has askes the question WHY they have moved production? Usually its down to money. But its a strange one for such a small company.

Agreed. Quality is also about how experienced the factory workers and supervisors are. Poland has a lot of manufacturing like what Elektron needs, which means they have a lot of experienced workers available as well as companies that have a lot of experience with outsourced manufacturing. It might be easier to start assembling machines like the OT in Poland (or China) than, say, Finland or Norway. But still Made in Norway does sound better than Made in Poland. In my view it’s just prejudice.

It could be money, of the fact that they just can’t find enough workers or sufficient factory space in Sweden to keep up with the demand. Which I guess would also mean money, as they surely could build their own factory and train their workers, but that would be quite stupid considering they could just move part of their manufacturing process to Poland or Estonia.

Even my DIY modules were too! Incredible.

Agreed. Its pretty difficult to get willing employees working on piece labour these days.

It hasn’t been emphasized. That 2018 Superbooth description comes across as oversights by their marketing department (or maybe they still made all their products in Sweden back then).

In reality, Elektron has said that the products are designed in Sweden, and people are just remembering wrong.

country is exactly what Iam not talking about

If a product is faulty is it returned to Sweden HQ or Poland?

Yep. Like you pointed out, the Nordic countries have relatively little electronics manufacturing, so it’s actually easier to find skilled workers elsewhere.

You’re definitely right about prejudice, too.

Sorry, your main point was:

So essentially you’re talking about the country in which the product is manufactured, not about e.g. two different factories in Sweden. I hope you read the rest of my reply where I discussed this idea.

Support tickets redirected to Poland maybe an issue. Only kidding

This is totally false! You must be new to elektron and reality

The amount of research that’s gone into moaning on this thread is genuinely hilarious.

Seriously, if you’ve got time to care this much about Elektron’s supply chain you have too much spare time and should probably do some volunteering or something instead.

My overhub says Made in China

It works fine

All this time complaining about what is made where when everyone could be making music.

I repeat one last time, unlike @Misanthropic_Friend who had issues with his new black OT (unlucky), mine is totally perfect. No cosmetic issues and everything works as expected.
The first thing I remember when I unboxed it was the feel of quality of the knobs and crossfader.

So yeah, I didn’t even notice it was made in Poland, and I don’t care. For me is made by Elektron, and I trust their professionalism to have the right assembly chain.

If you mean my “research”, I’m not moaning about anything. I did a Google search to see if the “made in Sweden” claim really had been used in marketing (I don’t remember it being). But I don’t care where they’re made. My other replies in the thread were objecting to jumping to conclusions about the future of Elektron, based on 2+2=500 reasoning. I agree it’s all a load of fuss about nothing.

Totally wasn’t aiming it at you.

I don’t understand Elektron, why can’t they just pay more to have it Made In England by Polish nationals?

(I’m only joking, I don’t care really)

Phew

Was worried my Google “research” had been taken the wrong way!
