Insert reverb fx on each track, for starters. There was a pioneer “roadmap” that is about 2 years old now, might be able to find it floating around somewhere.
But this last update makes it feel like a pretty complete unit now, considering the price it’s at these days.
Still super confused about why you cannot delete samples on the unit itself. That’s really my biggest gripe. And the lack of pattern chaining. Pretty easy to just bounce an arrangement to a loop samples. But would be nice to chain short patterns for programming.

Love my SP-16, but the thing that bothers me most is that if you use a separate out channel that this one is not muted for the Master out 1/2. Seems as only few people dislike this, I don’t get it why they do not change this…

seems like it only went up to 1.4 (roadmap) can anyone confirm 1.6 carries all these ?
I haven’t opened my SP16 yet , will have time during christmas when kids are playing with their gifts

Yes after playing with the effects this machine has I wish we had those effects in the picture. Effects on this machine are built with good design. I’m sure these are the effects that come on their mixers too right? The 2 band EQ is great for transforming kicks and snares.
I’m still enjoying the D/A conversion of the master outs of the machine. I think I will setup my turntable next to it and see what I can sample. I’m sure pioneer put some nice A/D converters too.

(only my point of view) But they completely miss the launch of this product. So complain, so much feature request, too many times token to bring things on the table. With 1.6 they bring a second FX slot witch one is very important to mixing - FX1 for EQ / FX2 for Dynamics of Creative Processing. One or Two Main FX with more Reverb types, more automation capabilities and this device certainly be on the top of the sales. Perfect for stereo sample manipulation (one shots and loop) pair with the Digitakt for Mono materials or an Octatrack and you have all you can wish for sample in a Live setup.
I don’t think they will go further judging how many time they need to pull 1.6
FX2 was one of the most complain against SP16 after Live Sampling.
I think people need to take it as it is. And for what it is on the second hand market it’s a bargain for the price. (and usable in this state with FX2 without too much hassle out of the device to prepare SP16 sessions before to load it)

Yeah, as cool as it is, I think I’d be frustrated by what it can’t do, in the end. Streaming, different time signatures and polyrythms are all big deals for me. I’m sticking with the Blackbox.

Ok so I opened her up, brand new in the box touch screen calibration is off 
Can’t tap settings icon, used shift and home button combo to access calibrate screen function , still no go calibration function is off too 
SP-16 was shipped with version 1.1 updated to 1.4 from old files from previous purchase then to 1.6 a bit better but still no go.
@v00d00ppl you put that voodoo on my SP-16 guess this is going back for an exchange too was looking forward to the weekend oh well 1st world probelms 
Mine came with 1.1 too. Mine came from amazon. Both units were from 2016 that were shipped to me. Did I smell it and get high from the factory paint fumes? Maybe! Second unit has a much better screen in term of quality. @dickmalibu good luck brother on the replacement unit. This machine has mojo man. The sample in A/D sounds good, but the killer is the D/A outputs. Everything just punches more with this machine. The weird thing Is i am not raising the attack of my drums on it. I will write a bass heavy track and use the high pass filter to get the mud out and bang my head hard.
Funny I got this last Friday the 20th I had it downstairs in a finished basement , not cold but stays pretty cool( I wonder if the temp had anything to do with affecting the touchscreen)
Anyways decided to let it sit a few minutes with the power on and now she is working flawlessly
I know thats why I repurchased it to my ears nothing sounds like this box, I would love key mapping/multisampling but I am ok with it in its present state (software wise)
Will see how it pairs with iPad pro but am leaning towards getting the 1010 Blackbox to pair with SP-16

So its an ongoing issue with the screen, on start up I have to keep calibrating 4-6 times before screen responds correctly. Pioneerdj support responded via email after 24 hours of initial call out to them ( email support is not my thing) the are requesting a video. I will send video and see what they have to say, but will return for exchange, outside of that still loving this machine !

Before my screen died I could not even tap any of the options or sub menus anymore then it eventually went black. I could not even calibrate either. Sounds almost like the same issue. What I did to speed it’s death up was leave the screen on without screen saver for an hour and it stopped working. Good luck on getting a new unit.
