First time I heard something from him was Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, Furyo’s theme…
Sometimes, the song would stay in my head for a whole day, and I would improvise variations.
There was so much warmth in this melody, so much tenderness… My kid heart was mesmerized, I knew there was comfort in music, something I could rely on.
A tear for this great man.
Thank you for your legacy.
