Show us your cable mess

My mess is on the first photo.
I forgot to add a description like “expectations @ reality”

Is this one better? )

I’ll just leave this here. I think we have something to offer to this r.

There’s a mess behind there somewhere but it’s hard to see.

This time it’s actually from my studio… the patchbay is for FX chains only and can get quite disturbing to look at.

Six patchbays! Hats off to you. I started wondering if there was something wrong with me when I got up to three installed plus a floater. Haha.
Also, off topic, did you engrave/ burn that design (Mayan?) by hand? Looks really nice.

I’d really like a GL2400 one day (also a room big enough to put it in!)

That’s the antithesis of mess

@chiasticon 's reply to @diswest applies to you too.

I am thinking on a patchbay for my collection of pedals, I’ve got half a dozen or so plus a small sub mixer for messing about with noise/feedback loops.

I´ve tried to avoid patchbays for the longest part but for FX chains it´s actually quite fun and let´s you get really creative. I´ll try to free up two more sends from my mixer to have two individual FX send/returns so I can send FX into some FX
And the Jomox is quite a feedback noise machine, haven´t used it as a filter at all actually.

There’s another one (not pictured) at the desk I made with the Aztec laser burning.
7 so far! I plan on having at least a few more!
This doesn’t let you off the hook though, because I know I’m crazy

Thanks! I made it, but not by hand. I used my homemade 3D printed CNC machine with my 2.8W diode laser.

Keep an eye out on Craigslist or wherever. I got mine from a church that was “upgrading” to a smaller digital mixer. 2 of the channels didn’t work so I talked them down to around $500. Turned out the be just a few ribbon cables that were unseated. Score!

Haha, yeah I probably should be. What’s a cable mess without contrast though? Want your excessive cable mess to really stand out? Put it next to a clean tidy cable setup! Win - Win!

Plus while you were all happily making music knee deep in spaghetti, I was sobbing uncontrollably about how I’m never gonna get to make music again. Tears pouring over a hot soldering iron and wire strippers with little puffs of salty steam rising as each tear fell from my cheeks. I crawled around under my desks (which I spent months building) for weeks on end with no relief in sight.

Exactly what I like doing with pedals. But rewiring them every time I think “what happens if I plug this into that” got old really quick! It would be great if someone made a pedalboard with built in patch bay…

I keep this small mess in reserve at work to soothe me while I’m away from my main mess

This one is small enough to fit on a pedal board if you don´t know it already.

Thanks - I literally just found that! I like the way it looks like an open brain with all the cables :brain:

True.

I’ll have to remove some blank panels to get in the there, so I’ll make sure to take a picture when I do

yeah that’s why I haven’t posted anything here. I’ve been putting off some re-arranging I need to do behind the rack/patch bay. so when I get to that, I’ll take a pic…

In all fairness, having done such meticulous planning and craftsmanship @Airyck deserves to have a righteous gloat at messy bastards like me.
