Yep and exactly for that reason, when I had a Rytm, the Snare voice was used for synth hooks. And it never felt limited.

The inverse is trueā¦ save the snares for when you have to hold a tempo but wish to slow down the groove without dropping the BPM.

I imagine you know this but Footwork comes directly out of the Chicago dance style - IMO the music doesnāt make a lot of sense outside of that context (but is pretty incredible within it). A friend of mine hosted some Jit vs. Juke battles here in Detroit (and I think one in Chicago) and seeing people dance footwork was like a light going on - āOh, this is why this music is this way.ā The music is in service to the dance form, not the other way around, whereas Detroit Jit can really be done to anything as long as itās fast enough.
