Lucky it wasn’t the 909 you were dissing
Love Bosozoku style
the only thing strange about stranger things remixes is that they keep coming out
I try to be tolerant and accepting, but that is one of the scenarios that would severely test my patience.
yeah but what if it’s a great kick, some wonderful chords, and great lyrics?
Then they’d be doing it in an arena, not a coffee shop.
Gathering ideas for the next piece of music to work on:
- Must use arpeggio
- Arpeggio must be the Stranger Things arpeggio
- Arpeggio must be played on 303 or soundalike
- Squelching filter must be used
- Snare must be used
- Something bluegrass must be inc… oh wait, the comment was actually that it’s cool… oh good, the only bluegrass tune I know is “Red Haired Boy”
- Swing must be set to 55%
And your track must basically disappear every time the kick hits
Where’s the reverb swells?
All of that + shimmer reverb. Oh and don’t forget some strange stereo image fuckery on your low end.
I never liked the technique with the things all over the stuff. I end up flim-flamming the volume recoder to remediate the issue.
Personally I’m into Minimal wall of sound vibes
I’ve distilled the thread for those who don’t want to read the whole thing. What we want is simple: a dry arpeggio-less recording with no dynamics, filter sweeps, or any sort of repetition - made without analog or modular gear, of course.
Great summary. I would just like to add that I would not like any volume either.
Chorus the bass, lots of unnecessary panning, drops, crashes, autotuned vocals, some Alan Watts dialog, feels, chills, triad chords, sirens galore.
