Vote on Overbridge!

Just vote ‘Pro’ or ‘Con’

The reason why is fine but please no discussion to keep this topic clear!

For me it’s:

Con - The Analog series are not semi-modular so it’s not interesting for me.

P R O (love the way you can use it, but dont have to)

I have no need for it, and have noticed the lack of OS updates on machines due to it.

Pro Con

I like what it does…

But I can’t seem to get it to work without a glitch, which makes it unstable and not really useable.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done a multi-track recording only to have to re-record each track individually because of the glitches…

GLITCHES!

Inc.

Con…what Prints said^

PRO: Good concept

CON: Doesn’t work with Logic (and from what I’ve read really only with Live how it’s supposed to).

CON: Roadmap constantly gets pushed back even when revised, and I’m starting to lose faith it will ever work with Logic how it’s supposed to.

CON: Takes resources away from updates of machines (previously mentioned).

In the grand scheme of things it’s hard not to look at it as a big mistake in my opinion. That can all change though, so fingers crossed!

CON- Not working No update No real BETA…

Pro: good idea and concept

Con: sync is not tight on my system

Overall, OB reminded me why I like hardware. Hardware is all right there, straight to the point. You’re off and running. With OB, there’s just a hair enough set-up to kill my inspiration.

Maybe with more updates and a little tighter sync. Until then, I’m all hardware.

Con- I don’t have any interest in it, and I would prefer it if Elektron focused on something else instead.

pro in a jam session it records everything so you can find things you liked later.

This… so generally:
PRO - if it ever works properly.

Pro :

Just plug the USB and there you go! Removing the middle units for connection, it’s a good concept (for a sole Elektron user of course)

Also a really nice interface for new Elektronauts who couldn’t get the hold of mingling around the machine yet.

Cons :

Too limited when thought about the potential. Would like to see where it is going.

Pro.
Frees up 8 recording inputs on my audio interface and saves me from even more cables on my desk.

Con: lame bandwidth, why not be able to use all input channels from AR?

^
:+1:

Exactly what I was about to write !!

Pro: Why not ? ; It Exists. Take it or leave it, it’s not compulsory !

.

Con: This thread ; The futile complaining & dull DAW questions …

.
.
.
PS: ^ Low relative bandwidth reasons have been covered officially (lesser evil), make the best of what you have !

Con: not synched properly

When I’ve got it working, I’ll let you know.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Pro - looks occasionally useful, if it works.

Cons - I only have OT and overbridge seems to have taken nearly all of elektron Dev resources for a long time now. Disappointing for a ‘hardware’ company… Personally I think elektron should focus energy on what they’re good at and what sets them apart. Unique, forward thinking STANDALONE units… Though with OT for example there is still often a need to be able to get all 8 tracks in to a Daw as stems. Which would be amazing if Elektron could figure out a simple method. But it doesn’t have to be as complicated as over bridge…
