What do you listen to when you want to listen to something but are not in the mood for anything?

My immediate answer is GAS: POP.

My wife’s instant answer: brown noise. She says if you have ADHD, it’s the business. Link:

Well… if driving (where I do most of my listening) that might make me nod off.

Yeah, for me, it’s like nodding off and coming round again on a plane. As for my own answer, it would be some Autechre or some Beatles

bedroom techno, or any other type of skung.
“bad” audio quality, compressed, resampled, unimportant.

I listen to talking people, but don‘t really pay attention. I most like it when they have some quirk about their voice/speech, like dry mouth, smacking lips or odd dialects.

I never listened much to Cortini but checked out that album on the way home and really enjoyed it. Seems on the edge of not being purely ambient not that I care to split hairs over such things.

Yes, maybe. How would you label this?
Anyway, it’s really what I love these days…
Noises, melody, no beat. Totally my thing

Local college FM stations.

Usually some Philip Glass. He also just has a huge catalogue so it’s easy to not get bored.
