In terms of the emulating a 909, the first thing you’re going to want to do with its BD is pump it though a compressor anyway, so trying to synthesize a kick one-to-one is probably not big on ROI… compare this to the OH and SD. I think these would be more interesting to emulate given that IMHO these were the instruments that gave the 909 it’s iconic sound.
(Yes I know the 909 Open Hi Hat was a sample, but damn that would pretty cool to model on the Rytm).
Is there anywhere you can get pre-made kits that will do the job nicely in a pinch?
you could just batch convert them to 16bit if that’s what you need? I can’t remember for sure, but I think even vlc media player will do this for you.
