Yep
If you can understand the Glaswegian accent, then you can understand the Octatrack.
Nobody understands the Glaswegian accent better than a Glaswegian, therefore nobody understands the Octatrack better than a Glaswegian.
@cupfungus is Glaswegian, therefore he understands the Octatrack better than everybody.
My vote is for @cupfungus
I like this twisted logic.
I think Iāve been away long enough, Iād go back to demoing if the money was good.
It really doesnāt matter to me. What Elektron needs to do is make a new flagship device that is exciting and innovative. Quite honestly whomever demos that will be fine with me.
All of us. Like Polyend does.
EDIT: Iām serious. They should let each of us (start by who has been here the longest and take it from there) show one feature.
I like Ricky Tinez (his enthusiasm is genuine and he seems very loyal) but, I donāt think anyone should get this kind of gig based on how popular they are on YouTube. But alas, this is our society now. I lament the shit out of it. See kids, keep it up and you too can land your dream job.
The device should speak for itself. I hate this synthfluencer trend thatās happened in the last 5 years. One could tell that Hector didnāt give a single fuck about anything, let alone sales
Ricky Tinez is completely wack, and a cheap move by Elektron to hire him as the new guy. I donāt think Ricky would have been hired if he didnāt already have a huge synthfluence following. Talk about boring. I hate his music, and I hate synthfluencers in general. Always trying to sell you shitty gear.
Thanks
Honestly I think Ricky was about as good of a choice as they could have gone with if they were looking to pull in new peopleā¦ but it is also pretty weird that RMR kind of put him on blast, being like hey Ricky Tinez was fired, when Ricky hasnāt come out to say anything about it. Feels invasiveā¦ but yeah they probably shouldnāt hire anyone because they will just fire them a few weeks later.
Hilarious .
Iād like to see more female demonstrators.
Thereās some amazing talent out there and it would be good to help encourage more youngster and oldster women into the joys and satisfaction of electronic music making.
Young and old bald men shouldnāt have all the fun!
Cuckoo has done some amazing tutorials on Elektron gear and heās still good I think. Thereās a lot of clever for clever sake videos out there, which is great for glitch/chaos/noise styles. There should be videos that balance against that too. My ideal tutorial is sort of hereās how to do a core feature put down a framework thatās your entry point, and then go, but you can also push it like thisā¦
My wish list, ask some of the artists who already gushing about the gear for some behind the scenes, Thom Yorke, Mogwai, Smashing Pumpkins, AFX, Bjorkā¦ (Can you tell I grew up in the nineties
ā¦since THIS brand likes to stick to traditions like not too many others in this bizā¦
ā¦with no doubt, they better bring back their one and only datalineā¦
they should know better by now and so does heā¦we all learn the best from our own mistakesā¦
I canāt see any artist who takes themselves seriously being tied to some corporate brand. Iām as big of a Elektronaught cult member as anyone else and the idea of representing anything other than myself is gross. This whole influencer era is on its last legs and only became as big of a deal as it is now because we were stuck inside for over a year.
100% this.
Donāt waste your life worrying about things that havenāt happened yet.
Do what you want for the reasons you want to do it, and ignore the things you canāt control.
Put yourself out there and make your calling card, and then maybe youāll be in the position to get a call.
The same goes with synthtubers IMO.
Itās hard to think of anything that would ruin the allure of an artist more.
Who cares.
