Glad you were able to get it sorted out. I imagine that was pretty frustrating to be in that situation, especially being long past the window to dispute it with a payment processor. Hopefully the rest of us know something in the next 6-12 months.
For anyone else that might want to hop on board⌠this means thereâs at least one more Avalon thatâs available.
Is there a chance this last batch wonât get made and we wonât hear from him? I ordered from this final batch and the money is gone at this point. Just curious if anyone thinks thatâs a possibility. I know he seems to come through eventually with no communication for the most part.
He apparently gave an update recently to the people that ordered the VS-1. Said he had a family emergency and shut operation for a couple of months, but he is now back at work. Sounds like the VS-1 is ahead of the Avalon in terms of priority, so donât expect it too soon.
This is update to let you know the Avalon units have not started shipping yet. There are still some electronic component shortages. All of the printed circuit board assemblies used in the Avalon are waiting at the factory for the remaining parts. There are about (12) components outstanding with the longest lead time currently being October 2022. The enclosures and all other aspects of the production are completed.
If you do not want to wait you can cancel your order anytime by sending an email directly to brian.castro@abstraktinstruments.com. Please note when an order is canceled you will lose the reservation and there will likely be no stock once units are shipping.
That was my experience trying to get any pre-order slot that opened up recentlyâŚover a month and no response. But thatâs kind of what I was expecting, based on prior interaction. Itâs cool, I already have an older unit, I just wanted a second one.
Going to guess that the October 2022 estimate for the final components means that this batch wont ship until early 2023.
Itâs possible it could occur sooner but yes, thatâs a reasonable expectation to set.
I appreciate the bad news, much more reliable than vague promises of soon.
Yes, obviously this all isnât ideal for a âcompanyâ but itâs also what i expect from a side gig that focuses on âqualityâ takes on cloning.
Does anyone have a way to contact Brian from Abstrakt Instruments besides email?
I contacted him a month or two back and he told me there were some units available due to cancellations. He asked what led and color I wanted and I gave him my paypal, but I never heard from him again despite messaging back periodically about whether he was gonna charge me etc.
