actually, here is one FS (not mine)
The SEM filter is so freaking goodā¦ just adds this weight and juiciness in the low end with the right settings. I almost never use anything else and just leave the adjustment wheel on the cartridge on that one setting alone.
Nothing wrong with the others and theyāre all unique and nice in their own ways, but that SEM (for me) is where itās at.

Good to hear that. I ordered the R:OTA filter when I got the Avalon a few years back and really liked that more than the standard filter, but Iāve had the itch to get another filter and so went with the SEM based on hearing a few examples on YouTube. It should arrive within the week, so looking forward to switching the sound up.

No. He said heād finish the VS-1 first, but itās been silent on the Kickstarter page for about 2 months now. He still doesnāt respond to emails as well.

I guess seeing as we are a bit in the dark about what is holding up the VS-1 I think there is some possibility that the Avalons start going out the door firstā¦ although it did sound like it was mostly a man hours thing to getting the VS-1s out the door (but also probably not 2 months of man hours). If it did happen that he needed to do another revision of a board or something and is waiting on parts perhaps the Avalons will get pushed ahead (assuming those parts came in).
If Avalons went out before the VS-1, Iād be happy, but people who ordered the VS-1 would be outraged I bet.
IIRC this batch of avalons is being assembled by a third party with red or white leds. I think if you ordered different LED colours they will do them in house.
In the VS-1 update Brian said he would be getting some additional hands to help with assembly and shipping, cant remember if it was for vs-1 or avalon or both. Hopefully he actually does.

Still sounds like Q2 of 2023 at earliest to me to start seeing a reasonable number of deliveries, but I completely wouldnāt be surprised by Q3 at all. Like Iāve said a bunch of times, it is what it is. Thank you for sharing!

No, he said previously the VS-1 parts were all ordered before too. I think. Maybe thereās a new product in development?

Yeah maybe, although I think it more likely for a batch #2 of the VS-1 being pushed out into 2024
