I am not a fan of the implementation of the Hidden mode. Keeping both foot switches pressed and working the dials is fiddly to say the least. More often than not, the switches just lets go, causing all kinds of unwanted effects, such as erasing my loop or turning of the wet channel or something.

Chase Bliss is starting to outgrow this format for sure.

“Perceived obsolescence” is a real trap…

Wow this pedal is awesome with OP-Z and Line module… especially when you engage in no-dub mode. Send audio out from OP-Z into mood, back into OP-Z, send that audio to the effects and looper and you have an ambient wonderland to explore.

I haven’t even synced them yet!

Unboxed mine tonight! It has been super fun so far, but I loved the first one so I’m not too surprised. I know I’m hitting a pretty hard pitched loop here, but you can definitely notice the stereo spread and subtle panning.

Just received my MKII today and had a great time setting it up and getting acclimated to it. Just wanted to tip my hat to the CB team for a job well done. The MOOD MKI was the only peddle I had and it was so great I never felt I needed any others…was definitely temped though. Anyway, my main wish was for stereo and for less noise at lower clock rates. Obviously both of those were addressed in this update.

Of the new features I’ve messed with, the spread dip-switch has been a lot of fun and added a lot of character to some of the effects. I also really appreciate the hi-cut filter. Initially I wasn’t overly impressed by the reverb and delay sounds as they just sounded a bit off to me. Once I adjusted the filter to my liking though it really hit the spot.

One thing to note is that I did have a moment of panic when I plugged it in. When you engage the wet channel the light is now red instead of green. Almost thought I had a defective unit  Thankfully it’s just to accomadate for the new freeze function (which I haven’t used yet).

I’m thankful for the hidden mode and what it adds to the peddle but I do agree with your thoughts on the how the hidden mode is implemented. Thankfully I don’t think it’ll really effect me in my use case but I feel for anyone who plays in live settings.

First longer session with Mood. Three parts multi-tracked into the OP-1 Field, and ambience recorded directly from the Field onto the fourth (last) track. All recorded through the TX-6 -

Actually, from my current setup, Habit’s the one most in trouble now. CXM has too much unique character to feel threatened by Mood. GenLoss does something entirely different, and the Blooper’s just better for looping and reworking those loops than the Habit is.

The Habit, for all its wonky and charmingly quirky nature, can’t quite keep up with my other stuff now when I can get so much flexible and strange-cool results out of the fusion the new Mood brought with the rest of the kits.

But we’ll see. It’s still a darling. And the night’s young.

So some thoughts.

• still early days and it’s really hit or miss when using it. Sometimes it’s pure gold (Steve Reich phasing for instance) and some times it’s a turd (wall of shit sounds)

• midi is really wonky. When sending midi CCs from OT it changes the value only half of the time. Hoping a FW update would solve this.

• hidden functions isn’t that bad

• CXM isn’t in any danger in regards to straight up reverb. The reverb sounds I’ve dialed in are OK (compared to CXM), but I didn’t get this because of the reverb.

•this pedal is extremely musical, changing clock speeds are at most times really pleasant to the ear.

• best use case I’ve found is with only one voice and not a mix. It gets to chaotic when a whole mix is going in.

This was really blissful!

Re: Habit, I hear this. It was so close to going until I sort of met it on its terms, if that makes sense? All the techniques from the ‘Making Songs With Habit’ video were the difference-maker, absorbing those has taken it from ‘cool’ to an unorthodox songwriting tool. Just sharing my perspective/thoughts, know you know how you like to work and may well be using similarly! Detail over!

Yeah, I’m keeping it. It keeps surprising me, which is reason enough :slightly_smiling_face:
