Chase Bliss Audio MOOD

I got mine yesterday and feel basically the same.

I tend to use three or four recordings from the Mood in the same mix when I use it. From first impressions, I believe I’ll use the MKII in the same way, though I think it’s more capable of sustaining entire songs all on its own, multi-tracked or not, than the first version. The stereo implementation is really well done and helps to create a polished vibe to everything that comes out of it.

were you able to create an FX loop to record with just the OP-1 Field + mood?

Haven’t tried it yet actually. Without monitoring, I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle. But I should give it a go, see for myself.

Man when the mood hits, it REALLY hits. Some of the most beautiful loops and sound comes out of this thing. Sometimes it’s really not the case lol, and I do wish I could save some loops more easily sometimes, but I also embrace the temporary nature of these micro loops.

Using the mk2 but felt this way with the original as well.

Here’s hoping TP-7 got us covered.

OT and CBA does some weird stuff. I worked with them to solve it, but it’s an OT issue. Other Elektron boxes are fine. To solve it, I run through a Blokas midi hub (for other fun reasons too). Works great that way.

Ooh ok,Thanks for clarifying!

Im gonna try with ZOIA and see if I will get better results

What i don’t like about my Mood mk1 is that the volume of the recorded loop gets lower and lower over time. When i leave it running for a few minutes i always have to compensate the volume loss with my mixer. Is it the same with the mk2?

Nope. I think you might be referring to the deterioration of the Mood’s loops, which I think is a setting in the original that you can bypass.

But either way, you most def can bypass it - it’s not even the default mode - in the MKII. Loop keeps looping until the end of time.

I have Blooper and Habit. I found that MIDI implementation is very bad and yes, sometimes some commands don’t work.

Good to know! I’ve mainly used Digitone and not had any issues. Anything on Octatrack to avoid or be aware of in particular?

So I’ve tried with ZOIA and have had generally much better results.

Here’s a ZOIA patch where I’m using an envelope follower to reduce the mix on Mood, I then have CV from Tides affect wet time and modify and micro looper length and modify.

Wet channel is set to slip mode and micro looper is set to stretch mode and routing is wet + in.

I want to note that I have some USB noise issues in these recording since I’m routing midi via CXM which is giving off the noise.

In these recordings I’m just fiddling on the OP-1 to try out the ZOIA patch.

We have two ears

I’ve only encountered it with OT and CBA. No other issues with any other combinations from my experience.

Had a break with Mood and OP-1.
up till now ive had Mood set to overdub latch and “No Dub” to use more like a live effect.
But this time i just let it to create small micro loops, recording stuff in on a whim (vocals, synths etc)
and this is really where i felt this pedal really shined.

Ive been trying to deduce where to put it in my set up and it feels like it will be permanently attached to OT as sample fodder.
