Thank you! Just confirmed via video.

Hmmmm…

Does the mood mkll use trs midi type a or type b? I just looked at the manual and midi manual of mood mkll, but they don’t specify the information.
If I wanted to use the trs midi out of my M8 (type a) with a simple 3,5mm to 6,3mm stereo cable, would that work?

I think you need a midi box like from disaster area because the cba pedals don’t neither use type a or b. If you don’t want to use a box you may solder a cable yourself. The schematic can be found on a thegearpage thread I believe.

Thank you! Sounds like midi would be too much of a hassle to get into for me with the mood. I would just want to use it for clock sync.

You might also be able to find someone who makes custom cables that are compatible with Chase Bliss pedals… I think if any pedal was worth using with midi it would be this one. Every parameter is mappable, and the new synth feature is amazing :raised_hands: It’s the coolest thing they ever done (imho)

Heartfelt thanks to both of you for the suggestions! These might be options further down the road, but I remember configuring complicated midi pathways with other instruments in the past and then never really using them how I intended. I might just get the mood mkll and use it as it is. Keeping things as simple as possible has always turned out to be better for me.

The pre made version. You don’t need the box to use the cable

Make sure to use it with a DIN socket that provides power over MIDI, otherwise no luck using this cable. MIDI out/thru on digi boxes and OT MKII work fine for this :sunglasses:

Yep, this.

I bought 2 TRS jacks off ebay, cut a midi cable in half and now have one that works perfectly with my octatrack and CB pedals and also a spare.

I’m :pinching_hand: close to ordering a Mood mk2. Perhaps surprisingly to me cos I didn’t actually love the mk1 and sold it pretty fast after I got it. To be honest, tho, I didn’t have much patience to explore it back then as I was going through a lot of gear in a short period of time. Listening to the video manual and team demo AND having some funds from recent sales are making me go ”fuck it, I’ll give it another go.”

Is the mkii worth it if you play in mono (my guitar chain is mono and works fine for me as I generally play thru an amp)?

What can you imagine doing with it? Drones? Dreamy textures? Write a song with it? Or get inspired to write one?

Probably not drones as I tend to prefer Mood used in more subtle ways but textures, inspiration and jumping-off points to writing songs, yes to all those three.

I kinda made a deal with myself that if I still want the Mood four weeks from now (and didn’t waste the money on anything else in the meantime, I’ll order one).

It can output stereo sounds from a mono input, but only you can decide if it’s worth it.

True - but I only output mono for my rig…so wondering if the other upgrade features are that much better to warrant not getting MKI if stereo isn’t important. Anyone have thoughts on that?

I love the original Mood, but I’m still learning it. I feel like I’m just finishing the first few chapters of a book. By the time I’m done with Mood 1, then Mood 2 will be cheaper because of all of the hype about the upcoming Mood 3… then I’ll grab a Mood 2… wait for Mood 4 to be announced… grab a Mood 3

Isn’t that a sure deal already? A real challenge would be for example to write a song that sounded as if done with a Mood, obviously minus the Mood, and not to buy any Mood mkii before that song sounds as if made with one  (borrowing or purchasing a Mood, mki or mkii, for this purpose would be considered cheating)
