because the second you sell it, they’ll implement bpm per scene, and warp marker tech/manipulation via the knobs and then double the price
Hmm….thanx for the replies. The Force is pretty cool with its clips an all.Quite like the idea of working like that. And just mix and matching things, getting unexpected results, building up a track quickly….And the micro functions….sounds like you can have modulations/free running LFOs thats sadly missing from the MPCs….altho i can get that from ableton. Was also wondering if there is any difference in sound? At all……Probably not.I guess its all pretty close but the X seems to win in the control department.
How wide is the X without the sides on?
51 cm…
Many thanks
Some elements felt quite clunky though. Lfo’s aren’t as extensive, integrated or refined like those on an OT.
The Force has a scale featuring where incoming Midi will snap to scale (closest note up or down). Does MPC have this? I couldn’t find it.
Hi,
Unfortunately the MPC does not do any of that, and many other functions that are supported by the Force. Right now your only choice is the Force if you want that.
While I understand AKAI needs to sell Forces and MPC that are different devices. I’m not found of how it affects OS updates.
I have a Force and Live 2, but kind of like the idea of all of the buttons on an X. The scale stuff is no biggie, as a launch key would do the same thing. I would need the MPC to get the macros, though. I’m not sure I see that happening.
I actually really like the interface on the live II (only thing I wish it had was a dedicated edit program button). I know not everyone likes a touch screen, but I think the live II interface makes the most sense with the touch screen.
Actually the new update has a swipe from side menu and program edit is right there… it will be easy faster then the current ways… I’m actually really excited about that… I can’t wait to be able to jump to program edit so fast…
I can’t imagine that being easier or faster than holding menu and tapping the second pad. It’s a nice feature to have, but I love the pad shortcuts.
I like that they are adding multiple ways to do things though in order to suit more people.
Welcome to incentivized reviews.
In my first ever posts on this forum, I pointed out this as a reason why you cant trust people like Loopoop. Most people disagreed with me.
Get used to it as it will only increase.
We saw it with how influencers were mostly worshipping Syntakt and Poly Play.
There’s this micro youtuber Tefty & Meems. He pointed out many flaws. He seems like a honest guy.
Yeah the possibly clunky and also multi button press side of the Force worries me.
First impressions of Push and Live remind me of using the OT somewhat. The flexible feel of audio/LFOs ect.Feel pretty organic.
MPC live should have reconfigurable buttons.I know there already named and designated but….if you want a quick programme edit button.Voila…its definately nice to have them all there on the X.
Man, if I could make the + or - button be the program edit button I would be in heaven, I give this idea a +1!
Yeah, I really hate it when youtubers say, ‘oh so and so sent me this to review but they don’t tell me what I have to say’.
Well, if you say something bad no one will be sending you products. So yeah, all your ‘reviews’ are incentivized. Please don’t treat us like we don’t know better. They are not reviews, they are just ads.
I’ve a Force since launch and sometimes I still need to check the manual to figure out how to access some areas…
Yeah the pad shortcuts are great.
I added some labels for my favourite shortcuts, which has been super helpful!
I imagine the custom home screen will make it even easier, you can put your most used stuff on pad 1,2,3 etc.
Good idea.
But most of these are tap/double tap accessible already.
I don’t mind the access to Program Edit being Menu+Pad 14… and I don’t see a screen swipe and press being any more efficient. A double tap button would make it faster, but I don’t think it’s that big an issue in the first place personally.
