Been refreshing the site all day.
I don’t think we are getting any new extra features like the Fabric Synth. Maybe at a later date like how Force got Hype Synth first.

Man, that would be too bad, I would actually try using that FM synth.
I will cry.
The new pluggins are available for MPCs but not for free. OPx4: 149€
By now I’ve pressed “refresh” on the akai site so many times that they must be thinking that some kind of ddos attack is going on…
Now we know why the keys is so spendy £$€
Oh wow costs a kidney. How about letting us try on our MPCs first. I wouldn’t want a half baked crap at this price.
I feel the price is a bit high for those plugins. But some of them i would like to have.
honestly, depending on the content and quality, given the apparent lack of an extensive acoustic instruments MPC library . . . i’ll kick the tires for sure
I would really love that FM synth. But if it’s just another rompler with only editable envelopes, I’ll pass. Also, it would be cool to know how the hardware deals with these new plugins…
If anyone else was mainly interested in the OP/FM synth, you can buy a Digitone secondhand for about the same price as Akai is charging for the synth collection.
Also, let’s not jump the gun… maybe Akai are pricing this high with a view to offer it ‘discounted’ to existing users…maybe a limited time 50% off type of thing.
32 assignable modulation destinations spread across 8 pages.
I’ll write more later once I have time but it’s a beast. In the meantime overanalyse this picture
Thanks for sharing. Looks promising. I am hoping that our beloved synthtoobers will do a review or two…
Are you sure the FM synth is a rompler?
No. I am just asking myself. I hope it’s not.
You can download a demo, so go for it
But the demo is not for standalone, as far as I see.
I just now got an email back from akai saying my bug report is an intended behaviour. jesus christ. they even said they can replicate what im talking about which is clearly an issue. they told me to make a post on mpc forums about it where everyone clearly criticises akai and says they havent been active on there once for years.
No idea. Maybe just test it in controller mode?
The software should be good enough to form an idea imo
