ā¦ but a really good point at the same time.
I donāt think Akai (them especially, but most manufacturers (Roland spring to mind)) understand how annoying this ācontentā is that they force upon you.
Iād love to have a completely streamlined MPC containing only what I use/need. I think I would pay for that.
Also, thereās definitely a trend in marketing depts around the globe to release at 3pm GMT.
They believe this to be Goldilocks time to release for sure. Letās seeā¦
I donāt think Akai really highlighted how flexible the key ranges are.
It takes a bit of setting up to do it but you can now finally have a monster drum kit that triggers both samples and synths across multiple tracks.
You can have pad 1 trigger a kick synth, pad 2 with a snare sample, pad 3 with a hi hat synth, pad 4 the same hi hat but different note, pad 5-6 could trigger 3 different notes on a synth sound plug-in and so forthā¦
You might even have a sample and multiple synths triggered by the same padā¦
A monster midi track, right? *or is this within a drum program?
Was thinking in those lines as well!
Perhaps one bank per instrument type. Would make it so quick to jump between your sequences.
Looking forward to try it.
best I can do is $3.50
Update is live.
After updating, will the standalone hardware have ads for these plugins?
From a drum program. Hit me up if you need some help with this, it can be tricky to setup, but awesome results.
it better not
When I got started I was happy to have the content and I still use it to this day. Some of it Iāll never use and would like to delete but some people told me that it could mess up the MPC. So my opinion is, sure load the device up with content so people can get started quickly, but make it possible to delete everything easily for those who donāt them it.
Updated successfully!
Thankfully it doesnāt.
Just updated my One, which seems fine (probability and ratcheting are in place), but I also received a notification after rebooting that new plugins were available but needed installing. I canāt see any separate downloads simialr to the Hype presets we had to install, so is this just referring to the new optional paid synths? It can be dismissed, so itās not a problem (I asked it to remind me later, just in case). Be good to know if Iām missing anything before I go back on later.
My guess is that it was referring to the new optional synths. Wouldāve been cool for them to say that though.
I think from Preferences->axctivate plugins you c an redownload them?
I skimmed the Loopop video to see if I had missed anything before I update my One, and the plugins sound serviceable (not great) but Iāll never actually use them. Certainly not enough to ever justify paying for them. Iāll update for the ratcheting/ probability, thatās truly exciting to me.
Honestly I think itās time I unsubscribed from most of the synthfluencer types. I know enough about gear that their videos are no longer particularly useful, and somewhere in late 2020 or 2021 they seemed to become even more shilly and sales-y than they were. Itās just exhausting.
Does this mean that I can install the update without having to take up space with the plugins that Iāll never use?
If got the MPC Live 2 for almost 2 years.
Got my Digitakt 10 days ago, made more music with the digitakt then 2 years with the MPC.
Its just to clunky for my taste.
this is actually a great and useful feature for me if itās working as i think it should. i run my MPC from Hapax so the ability to split and keymap multiple plugins across a single keyboard assigned to one MIDI channel even across several MPC Tracks will be perfect. the way old school samplers arranged their presets. awesome
Digitakt is so so 2010s, we all about the Syntactless now bruh!
