MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

I download the trials for all the instruments and I have to say I am enjoying them way more than I thought. This is what I was waiting for, since my MPC One is my little sampler brain for my modular setup and having strings and good piano sounds to sample from (without having to deal with my computer on the other side of the studio) is really helpful. Yeah, they are way more expensive than they should be, but sending these instruments to outboard pedals and modular effects has been really fun.

The pianos are really easy to make ā€œambientā€, which is the style I go for, since there are some nice noise effects and ambient reverb settings in there and same goes for the strings, you can make some really dark ambient strings with relative ease. FM plugin seems deeper than I thought as well and it seems like the best of all the plugins, but I need to spend more time with that.

Overall, I donā€™t think its a run and buy them type thing, it really depends on your setup to see if this is worth it for you. If my computer was right next to my setup and I was ok incorporating ableton as I made music, I wouldnā€™t touch any of these to be honest since there are so many better VSTs and for cheaper or similar price. But for my setup, where the MPC one is my little standalone brain I sample from, this is exactly what I needed. I can record a little ambient piano or string loop on the MPC One with the new plugins, feed it into morphagene, granulate the shit out of it and send it to my FX.

complete certainty. They will stretch this out and do different bundles of every possible combination until it runs dry

On a positive note, anyone tried flavour yet? Or the new granular additions? Might even plug the old guitar in and check out the amp sims

The OP-X4 FM Synth sounds really niceā€¦I think they did a pretty nice job on this synthā€¦been running the demo all morning and am liking what I am producing.

The Air Instrumentā€™s VST stuff generally go on sale for ridiculously low prices eventually. I am sure this will be the sameā€¦29 bucks each, 119 for the bundle is the sweet spotā€¦

ā€œYEAH I KNOW Iā€™m going to bank B, I just pressed the buttonā€ :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

(at least give an option to turn this clown show off)

The probability feature is my fav. Adds so much more to my techno jams.

Also. Old old old features. But to work around not having a fill feature, Iā€™m getting reacquainted with the copy events and bars features. That was a side note

When you have an online device, user accounts, and $500 plugins, this feels like an unavoidable development. It just needs a few more plugin options, access to sample expansions, and some kind of online storage.

How dare they provide info?!:face_vomiting:

Just remove the screen already Akai!

Youā€™ve gone too far now! :joy:

Hereā€™s an 8 Bar Loop using the new OPX-4 FM Synth and the DrumSynthā€¦
