MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

Yep, been there, done that. It was nowhere to be seen on my account.

Now I’m at the summerhouse celebrating Midsummer and nowhere near my computer but I went to my InMusic account on my iPad and it looked like this:

So I apparently need to take those steps to update. It might have had something to do with yesterday traffic surge and the whole Akai site going down, but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t there yesterday. I’ll be back home on sunday, hopefully it’s still there then.

Weird.

I saw the same stuff since yesterday morning.

Yes, this days many companies sell half backed products hw/sw, then correct bugs. The efforts in debugging is probably related to the sales.
I especially noticed it in many SW where a new version is put on the market and they probably use the money from the sales to debug and further develop few features.
This is very sad.
I think probably Microsoft initiated this trend many years ago, today is the standard.
I’m still waiting for a working aftertouch of the Launchpad Pro MK3, novation is working on it since 2/3 years, they say

Yes.

its called bug fixes.

Microsoft is the biggest software company supporting the widest range of hardwares. So yeah, they need to issues more updates.

Its bad tho. We did that at the company I was at. Release stuff that wasn’t quite done to meet a deadline. Knowing full well we’d be patching it weeks after. We even started werking on a patch to fix bugs before the release was even out sometimes. It kinda became expected by our users. I think it’s a pretty bad way to operate.

:frowning:

I mean check this out.

I click on MPC Live and it goes here

2.10 :rofl::rofl::rofl:

10 bugs is bug fixing
300 bugs is beta testing in my book

Thankfully, thats not how any proper metric classifies it. :upside_down_face:

Most software devs understand complexity and security issues in software like OS, Office tools, browsers, etc.

This seems fixed now. Just saved a loop to usb stick & it didn’t hang like in 2.10.
But still doing the thing where going to Looper page changes the octave setting/bank of pads so if you wanna hit them live during loop rec you need to set this again (only checked Keygroup program. Dunno if drum programs are the same).

I’ve impulsively shelled out for the plugin bundle; I’ll let you know how it feels to me later …

I’m on the same boat wondering if I should or not lmao.

I think it depends on if you have the money and what your setup is.

I don’t get people being upset eith the price. I’ll simply just not buy and move on. The free update is good enough for me

First impression:

Stage EP: much better qualty than standard “electrtic” EP.
Stage Piano: good piano sounds, much better than built in keygroup grand piano
Organ: sounds convincing: nice to have drawbars and different tonewheel models: very good hammond emu
Opx-4: first impression is that it sounds good; lots of options in FM-matrix and 32 mod-slots.

Upto noiw I’m happy with this paid extension: expands my studio brain that much more…
