That emoji conjured something related but unspeakable in my mind.

Just my childish, gutter humour.

Sorry good people!

Back on Topic!!

Updated, my concerns were unfounded, looks quite ok.

And @CCMP dang that tuner is pretty fly

You can just turn the loop playback volume down.

oh crap I thought that was the track level and never paid attention to it. absolutely dumb of me. Appreciated! Crazy how much you can use something and not even see something right in front of your face

Gotta love how after updating for themselves, most people actually like the update.

Caution isn’t a bad thing though, if you don’t need the new features sometimes it can be better to not update if everything is working how you want.

Funny enough the tuner, menu customise, stability and slice mod are the only things that I think were worth updating for, but the other stuff can just be ignored so thats good for me.

I don’t really like the internal fx or synths, I have much better external gear for that, they are ok but I don’t use them. I just use it as a sampler/audio recorder/arranger, which is where it shines for me as I don’t use a computer DAW. But everyones use case is different, its all cool.

Are the new synths like the Solina virtual or actual samples from the real thing?

slice mod?

The real deal.

Sound way way way better.

I agree 100%.

I like the internal Air FX and instruments. They’ve come a long way and it’s fun for me to have them as options inside a standalone MPC. I recommend playing with them again… a little more. They won’t replace your favorite external gear but they’re fun and immediate inside the standalone environment

You can also move save to the quick access menu (swipe right from the left), so it’s quicker.

Yeah I see them as a bonus rather than a main feature is what I mean, the Odyssey is ok, and a few of the others are too, the fx are a bit of a mixed bag, some are usable though for sure. I totally agree with you about the self contained environment probably more so on the Live as it is portable, so convenient. Perfectly possible to make release quality tracks using them, that goes without saying, although I probably did not make it clear, its all relative isn’t it? Like you won’t necessarily reach for the Odyssey plug-in if you have the hardware version - at least in terms of sound, maybe for convenience/integration/portability etc.

I have a One but will probably change for an X at some point, seems to be the best DAW replacement on the market at present I think.

Slice automation they call it.

I looked up the update list and found drum slice automation but I don’t really get what it does. Will probably be really obvious when I’m at my MPC but right now I don’t get what they mean
