I’m judging a product as how the company is selling it.
Why do I first have to hook up the device to an editor on another device and undo everything the company did to make it logical? Shouldn’t it be the company to do that for us?

well, the knobs in novation circuit tracks and rhythm won’t be “random” anymore… they are labelled, which is very cool, seems like we will have more obvious control for the synth engine. I hope that they also utilized the grid to make some additional sound shaping capabilities this time around
Every person has its own logic, so giving people the option to do it is clever.
The lack of the Screen is a culture for Novation and the Circuit, and this design it has its huge audience. I had the Circuit MK1, and it is very amusing to make things fast with this workflow. Now the knobs are labeled, and the workflow is improved. Trust me, the Circuit and without a screen can be a pro groovebox.
But, here is the thing, and as you said, some serious limitations are still present, and to me the most important is the number of synth tracks in the Circuit Tracks, being only 2, will force the users again to make a lot of tricks in order to create some music.
Other than that, and if the unit transmits audio over usb, then this is going to sell extremely well as the previous model, assuming that Novation will not neglect some very useful features of the previous model (loading your own samples, capacity to record multiple samples in the drum tracks etc).
Either way, I think the Rhythm is the most interesting upcoming box, hopefully Novation will present it tomorrow with the Tracks.
I think one of the trickiest things with product dev is the fact that those who don’t say anything at all about your product, in forums or elsewhere except in conversations with friends or similar, are the crushing majority of those who buy your stuff. The ones who do vocal their opinions, positive or negative, are usually in the minority as far as number of users go and also at the extreme of the spectrum.
But it’s that large in between mass that’s driving the real sales, and those people don’t speak much. But it’s them you have to figure out what they want, if you want to keep business running.
So if you sold 30,000 units and most of those didn’t say a word to you on what you did right or wrong, you still sold 30,000 units. So you must’ve done something right to get there. Figuring out what that was, is the really tricky part.
Man let’s hope they spill the beans tomorrow during the day… Or even better… Feb 9, 00:00 GMT :)))))
I’m tired of waiting. I event bought the MV-1 from Roland and returning it in the mean time
Sure, the Circuit was an innovative groovebox, but you forget the fact that it appeared on the market in 2015. The market now is completely different and the competition in the groovebox category as well.
We’re talking about a technological product, can’t forget that.
Novation they sold 32.000 units of the Circuit, but this doesn’t guarantee them that will sell equally well the new Circuit, if they’re not on point on what they offer as a popular manufacturer, accordingly to the current competition in 2021.
Good point. Now I’m actually really curious on the reveal.

sound so dope
Sexy.
WOW, In the video above Novation present the Rhythm, I can’t wait!
needs Tina Turner
Sounds very Moroderish 88ish…
It’s the tracks. 2nd osx mix on the knob label
they don’t have teased the rythm already
I find this interesting. We have heard, read, and seen the least about the Circuit Rhythm, which is the “new” new one (and the one I am personally interested in).
I’m getting Debbie Gibson vibes, personally.
I don’t know if it’s been process or if it’s the raw sound but it sounds heavy and very good.
It’s a Instagram video, downloaded with a random free App. No editing on my side…
