The Rhythm has audio inputs, and sample manipulation and editing capabilities, it is a complete - entry level - 8 tracks sampler, not sure if its tracks are monophonic or polyphonic though.
looking at the description, Tracks most certainly won’t have sampling, maybe Rhythm will.
Audio In is fine enough for routing external synths through the FX chain.
A proper digitakt competitor? Cool!
A digitakt companion
You do wonder how much expense adding individual outs on a circuit would be for novation as well as Roland/Elektrons with their own groove boxes. Everyone seems to be in a race for super portable designs at the moment, personally I would trade a built in battery for separate outs.
I rather have as many i/o as possible as I could always connect a powerbank if necessary.
What Bobeats says about it being the gateway for starters is I think what made the Circuit most successful. I usually recommend the Circuit to anyone who just wants to start jamming and don’t want to be overwhelmed by thousand features. Just hit the on switch and go!
The overal design with colorful pads helped a lot making it a fun experience no matter what age or background people came from. The low price, battery powered, the nice feel and build quality and good sound. It basically had everything a beginner would need. I got an absoluut 100% satisfaction from anyone I recommended the Circuit to.
ETA 15 min. I have a meeting after, dammit so no time to sip in all the details
4PM GMT is in 2 hours
Ah shit… I remembered it’s 4pm my time :)) I’m in Eastern EU. GMT + 2. Yeah, shit you’re right dammit.
Well, at least I can watch it uninterrupted
we’ve already got some real specs!
in particular, they doubled projects (former sessions) per pack — 64 instead of 32, and synth presets per pack — 128 instead of 64.
also, 2 mono iputs for external synths that can be sequenced from MIDI tracks and then processed with Circuit effects — Novation obviously copied this workflow from MC-707, and i’m super happy with that, because it rocks.
and scenes! they added scenes!
Rechargeable Li-ion battery
Told you so.
- Acclaimed, hands-on sequencer: Create 32-step patterns, chainable for up to 256 steps sequences per track. Go off-grid with microtiming, and keep your music evolving with probability and pattern mutate.
- FX on everything: Douse synths, drums, and incoming audio in lush reverb and delay, make your mix pump with sidechain, and punch with the master compressor.
- Comprehensive connectivity: Connect to your studio with full-size five-pin MIDI in, out, and thru, and analogue sync out. Mix and apply effects to two audio inputs and listen through stereo out or with headphones.
- Go further with Components: Novation Components is the online companion that lets you delve into the synth engine, load samples and backup projects.
- Sound Collective: Register your Circuit Tracks today to get access to free plugins and content with Novation Sound Collective.
Right now I’m pretty sure we won’t see anything about the Sampler yet… Boomer.
If you search Amazon for Circuit tracks you can find that page, but nothing for Circuit rhythm.
I really love the new design, looks much more cooler
Also does anyone know if you can pitch a sample or alter it per step? A la Elektron?

There’s still hope
Are you kidding me? Each of the 4 drum tracks on the Circuit Tracks can include 16 drum sample sounds (sub tracks), so in total you have 64 sub tracks (for one shot samples, and even longer!!! ) in your disposal per project, and this samples can be your own that have been loaded from your computer. And of course you have and the 2 synth tracks for your melodies and the 2 extra midi tracks for connecting other gear if you want.
This is fantastic, and from the demo video this doesn’t sound anything like the previous model, it sounds really good, and its drum tracks have now a different and more modern Push like workflow.
Instant buy, dammit, I want to see and the features of the Rhythm!!!
