Novation Circuit Rhythm and Circuit Tracks

the loopop review is boring

The Circuit Rhythm’s 220 seconds of mono sampling time in RAM is about 19MB-21MB of RAM. (Assuming 16 bit, but depending on 44.1khz vs 48khz)

Cool that it has slicing, though!

totally agree with this… can’t believe they didn’t do a Circuit Pro already.

I’m sure there will be a Circuit Pro, 20 minutes after Elektron implements slicing in the model samples and the digitakt, just hold tight.

Really hoping it has polyphonic sampling one day,

Do we know if the slicing is by the transient or beat/even spacing?

even spacing, but can be customized afterwards.

I was watching this video on the Grid FX, and there is definitely some loud popping at times when engaging/disengaging. Hopefully Novation can add a slight easing, or microfade to the FX to negate that. Bonus points if it is user adjustable.

The thing that I love about this machine over its competitors is that it has a sync in on the back.

I agree, that is a big thing for me as well, as I have some semi-modular that will benefit from that, or even some Volcas.

Check what Calc wrote here.

Also pleased this exists, but not sure how I could use it properly. What cables do I use? Patch cable? What can I do with it? Could I use it for clock for my synth?

Well, if you have any of the Volcas, a Monologue, an SQ-1, a Microfreak, or anything with a sync out (some modular and semi-modular gear) you can patch the Circuit Rhythm with it and play them in sync.

Yes, it’s an analog clock signal. Not sure if you can set it to output different clock resolutions, though. Maybe someone here knows.

And it would be really cool, if they added something in the firmware, that you could select a track to use the sync out as a trigger out.

Thanks for clarifying! Could I use it with an Erica synths bassline db-01?

Yes, and easily because the DB-01 has both a clock in and a clock out.

Can it sample/resample while playing sequences? If so, can it start and stop recording on the bar

Thanks for taking the time to answer that I really appreciate that :relaxed:
