I’m interested in a Circuit Tracks. I hear mixed reviews of the synth sounds, but compared to an OP-Z (which I have) they sound like a step up. Components seems reasonably deep with sound design parameters, modulation matrix and how you assign macros is very interesting.
Is it possible to run Components on an iPhone and upload to a Circuit Tracks? I have the iPhone CCK (camera connection kit) so I can connect usb devices to the iPhone.
I don’t rate the synth sounds. The Tracks is good for using as a portable fun device to play with, but I personally wouldn’t use it synth sounds in a serious production. When used on it’s own you don’t really notice too much, it’s when you use it alongside other gear that you notice.
This is my issue with the OP-Z. I want better synth sound quality. I know some of that is subjective.
To be clear I’m a hobbyist and my budget reflects that. I’d be pairing my ‘brain’ (currently OP-Z but could be Tracks) with MicroMonsta 2 and Microfreak.
20 years ago Nova was a top end VA. So It’s curious to me that so many don’t rate the sound.
Out of interest what are the synths you use that show up the Tracks to be inferior sounding?
It runs in a browser so try going to it on the device in question. On this iPhone the page says “we’re sorry components doesn’t yet support mobile devices”
I don’t known. I know that web midi works on Chrome for my Android because I was able to use that web thing to transfer samples to my Model: Samples when I had that.
I’m almost completely sure I would just need to click “request a desktop site” before you open Components. I don’t have a USB C to micro USB so I don’t have a way to check. Maybe that works on iOS?
But I’ll be able to try on my phone when my adapter comes tomorrow. I’m also going to see about sequencing Koala from my Rhythm. I figured out how to map it on my Chromebook. Super tedious to set up but it worked great.
Different browsers have different capabilities. Largely we don’t notice because the majority of capabilities are the same so the experience is fairly universal across browsers and devices. But some new capabilities launch on some browsers before others and some capabilities are never enabled on some browsers.
Apple have not enabled webMIDI on Safari (and doesn’t look like they ever intend to) but Google have enabled it for chrome on Android, MacOS, Windows.
