I had something like this back in the day. That’s awesome about dial tone, never knew that.
Really dislike some guys talking smack about the circuit synth engine
Here’s a snapshot of its internal setup, not what I would call a lacking engine. There’s 20 modulators!!
Just programming it is a nuisance since it must be tethered to a pc or iPad or whatnot
For me it’s just a flavor preference. Some people like Moog, some people like Roland, etc. I don’t think the Nova engine is bad, but it’s just not my favorite flavor.
Oh yeah, nice. I had a Korg LED tuner for years. Worked fine.
please novation copy Elektron with your rythm, please don’t make it like a circuit… pretty please
Why should they copy an existing product? This job is already taken
They’re calling it “Circuit”, so I think your wishes won’t be heard.
I’m really interested to know what kind of a sound engine Circuit Tracks will have. I hope it sounds better (i.e. has more character) than the original Circuit and is faster to edit.
I’m just desperate for them to copy anything but the circuit
Limbic Bits patches (for sale) sound pretty good. Demos do use some external fx (eg Valhalla).
I’m super conflicted about my Circuit…don’t like twisting mystery knobs that are different for each patch and don’t like sitting at a screen to reprogram my own.
But can’t quite bring myself to sell it either.
I was conflicted like that twice… sold it twice… then I got an digitakt and walked through the pearly gates
It definitely does have it’s own sound, but unfortunately it doesn’t do it for me. I’m hoping the new one doesn’t use the same engine.
I hear ya. I think many people feel that way.
I dont get it. Why does it bother you
The synth engine was one of the primary reasons I left the Circuit, back in the days. All those features and parameters don’t really mean all that much when the body’s pretty thin. Which I thought it was. Even those who really excel at the Circuit, still build tracks that sound cool but also exactly like anything else that’s been around for ages.
It does nice things to its samples, though, so the sampler version makes a lot more sense. If anyone can bring lightning fast workflow to grid sampling, it’s Novation.
it’s just the least enjoyed workflow I’ve ever experienced but you can’t love everything.
got high hopes for the new boxes though, we shall see
What’s your most enjoyable one, then? I’m curious on your ref, but totally get why not everyone gels with the Circuit. It’s a bit abstract for sure.
Haha, for me it is one of the most fun and innovative Workflows out there! But as you say, each to there own…
Edit: to each their own, it should read, I guess, sorry non native English speaker here
I have high hopes for this new releases as I am selling my second circuit at the moment…
If the Track has a new engine in it, say a digest version of the Peak / Summit (not gonna happen, I know it’s absurd to think it will) or at least a big leap forward from the Mini Nova engine, I’m not not interested.
The sampler, though. If it streams both recording and playback, if the output and converters are solid, I’m tempted. Dream machine is the Blackbox sampler with the Circuit interface.
So you are interested.
