If you or I were given it as a work project, sure!
At work, my product managers prioritize upcoming projects based on what’s needed the most, based on resources available. Sustaining engineering budget can often be a problem over “new features” that can potentially bring in cash monies.
Soundcloud has been on the verge of insolvency for some years now, I can absolutely see how a simpler integration with mature 3rd party APIs to upsell “mastering” services could be a higher priority to bring in funds over “fixing the bot problem” which will not.

they had ~425 people at 2021, that’s for sure enough staff to implement spam filters, it’s not like they fight pornography or gore images and they have to either put people or invest in some high cost image processing stuff, it’s a spam filter… like, make the signup more difficult, do a phone verification, whatever, it’s not that hard imo.
I suspect they don’t want to really fight it. not sure why though.
They absolutely could with the engineers they have.
But if they are getting cash injections to stave off bankruptcy, they’re going to scramble towards more profit before they can address aspects that will cost them more money and bring in no extra.
It’s not that it’s not a priority, it’s that keeping the rent paid and lights on is a greater priority.
My company doesn’t have these flow problems and there’s a lot in my current role that i’d love to fix, but can’t justify to the business over other competing priorities or statements of work.

The label sucks either way, I checked it all out and it’s cheesy.
Everyone they email this offer to, they also have links to their youtube videos on how to master etc etc, in those emails, they need you, you don’t need them, I’d love to hear from someone who actually gave them money and what was the outcome?
I started posting music on soundcloud a year ago, and with each track I also send demo’s to my favourite labels, I figure, as I create and improve and fish for attention from the labels I know are legit and that I’d actually want to be associated with, maybe one day I’ll release something they actually like and they’ll start talking to me.
None of those labels; Minus, Cocoon, Hau5trap, Fk’n serious, Trippy code, etc, spam random users asking for money.
If you sent Joel (mau5) a track and he really liked it and wanted to release it on his label, you think he’d ask you for money for mastering? somehow I doubt it.

I preferred to master 2 titles on my side, in a studio near my house. I will send him my finalized Track. I’ll see where this exchange takes me.
Labels don’t sign off with “this is your chance not to miss it”. That’s a sales tactic, and this is a scam. Even if you ignore all the other cons that people here have pointed out - do you want your music associated with something that looks this dodgy?

This thread has reminded me of what a sewer SoundCloud is, filled with bots and scam artists. I just deleted all my tracks up there. I might move some old ones over to Bandcamp, considering how much people seem to like it.

Yep, emotional manipulation and false time-limited bounds for the “opportunity” to have your track uploaded to a soon to be banned soundcloud account.
